Summary: The Economist/Statistician will provide advanced quantitative and economic analysis in connection with complex litigation. This individual will collaborate with attorneys, consultants, and clients to apply statistical and econometric methods in complex matters, including damages calculations, labor and employment disputes, antitrust analyses, and financial modeling. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile litigation and will play a key role in shaping analytical strategy and evidentiary presentation throughout the litigation process with the Duane Morris Class Action Defense Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct economic and statistical analyses to support expert testimony, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Design and implement econometric models to estimate damages, analyze market behavior, or examine employment and compensation data.
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from financial, transactional, or wage-and-hour sources.
- Prepare economic and statistical summaries, charts, and exhibits for use in expert reports and trial presentations.
- Assist attorneys in interpreting opposing experts’ analyses, identifying methodological issues, and suggesting alternative frameworks.
- Collaborate with outside experts and consultants to ensure consistency and accuracy of analytical approaches.
- Translate technical findings into clear and concise explanations suitable for attorneys, clients, and court filings.
- Maintain familiarity with economic and statistical methodologies frequently used in litigation, including regression, sampling, and valuation techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in litigation support, economic consulting, or expert services.
- Proficiency in statistical/econometric software such as Stata, R, Python, or SAS; experience with SQL and Excel-based modeling preferred.
- Demonstrated experience performing data analysis for damages estimation, class certification, or pay equity assessments.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present complex findings in clear, accessible language.

Compensation: The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $115,000 – $175,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, geographic considerations, and business needs.
