Summary: Seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our 30 attorney Boston office. The right candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years of law firm experience in the Paralegal role and substantial experience in all aspects of Intellectual Property litigation and complex litigation with an emphasis on large case management, including trial preparation and management, including experience in the courts setting up trial exhibits and technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare, organize, and file documents and correspondence with the court
  • Conduct legal research
  • Update and maintain docketing and filing as well as internal databases
  • Prepare witness and other materials for case preparation
  • Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation
  • Prepare for depositions, including the preparation of discovery requests; facilitate service of process and coordinating examinations before trial (EBT)
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Assist between trial teams and internal/external third parties; conducts investigations engage in on-line legal research; develop pleadings; prepare motions and other pertinent legal documents/forms for review by assigned attorney; assist in discovery
  • Accurately and consistently track and record all related billable and non-billable time
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Drafting of correspondence, notices, and affidavits
  • Proofread as needed.

 

Experience/Qualifications:

 

  • Must be proficient in Electronic Court Filing, in federal and state courts, E-discovery, litigation software and other web-based litigation databases
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are necessary
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
  • The individual must be able to handle multiple, concurrent projects and generate quality work product in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Flexibility to work additional hours overtime, as needed, is necessary as is the flexibility to travel on occasion when working with attorneys during a trial
  • Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred)
  • Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a paralegal role
