Paralegal - ELBI - New York (Park)

SUMMARY: Working in a collegial team-oriented environment, our paralegals perform challenging and substantive legal work. Paralegal works under the direction of an attorney, assisting employers in sponsoring foreign workers for immigration benefits. Duties include direct client contact, preparing and filing nonimmigrant visa petitions and green card applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processing and filing PERM, EB-1, I-140s, and I-485s
  • Identifying potential issues arising in and working on EB-2 and EB-3 cases
  • Processing and filing H-1B, L-1, E-3, E-2, O-1 and TNs is also required - those with both NIV and IV experience will be considered first
  • Organizes immigration documents for attorney review and case preparation
  • Managing the caseload from intake through processing and filing

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience preparing extensions, amendment petitions, labor certification applications along with family-based petitions, naturalization and visa applications, changes of address and withdrawals
  • Should be able to execute the entire application process, from setting up files, labels, both electronically and to drafting and filing to responding to RFEs
  • Experience interacting with USCIS, DOL, ICE and other relevant government agencies
  • Knowledge of immigration laws is required
  • Working knowledge of legal database software
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred)
  • Minimum of 2- 4 years’ experience in an immigration paralegal role

PAY TYPE : Hourly

ANNUAL PAY RANGE: $65,000-$90,000

 

 

Please Note: The hourly and/or annual salary amount is based on a *good faith* compensation analysis in pursuant of New York City Human Rights Law (NYCHRL) listed under *Senate Bill 9457*. Final starting salary/wage is dependent on the candidate’s experience level, industry expertise, skills and other factors that are defined in the job description.
