Marketing and Business Development Specialist - Practice Groups

SUMMARY: Due to unprecedented growth and multiple strategic imperatives, Duane Morris is expanding its core MBD support across several practice and industry groups. This role has important, front-line responsibility with our lawyers and will work closely with a successful, plugged-in group of Marketing & Business Development Managers, as well as our robust MBD team in Philadelphia.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, polished, detail-oriented, pathologically-organized and -responsive professional with strong project-development and -management skills and a creative, solutions-oriented mindset, ideally honed in a large law firm or other professional services context. This role touches every aspect of the law firm MBD service offering and is an excellent place in which to develop and expand your skills with the support of your colleagues, but without micro-management. Our team is highly-recognized and sought-after by our lawyers, who appreciate and depend on our proven ability to help them shine in the eyes of their clients. Beyond this, firm leadership is highly-supportive of our roles, our client service mission, and our value to the firm. We’re all pretty nice around here and treat each other well. The world could use a little more of that most days.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong relationship-development, communication, and proactive client service skills and attitude are essential. 4+ years’ of experience in a law firm or other professional services firm desired. If you have experience in lawyer/practice/industry support, including coaching, team mentoring, cat-herding, events, pitch/other content development, budget creation/management, and can write better than me and with fewer run-on sentences, well, some or all of that would be super-duper. A sense of humor and humility would be nice while we’re at it.College degree required, as is occasional travel.Must be outgoing, comfortable demonstrating initiative, and able to think critically and creatively.High sense of responsibility, accountability, and focus on responsiveness. 2-5+ years related experience. Experience with an AmLaw 100 firm a plus. College degree. English or other writing-intensive background helpful
