SUMMARY: The Pro Bono Administrator will work directly with the Pro Bono Partner and Pro Bono Counsel to manage administration of the Duane Morris’ Pro Bono Program, which donated over 33,000 pro bono hours in 2022 with nearly 90% attorney participation. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to managing and supporting the administration of the firm’s pro bono practice. This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients. The Pro Bono Administrator is responsible for oversight, management and logistical support of the Firm’s wide ranging and varied clinical program. This role also provides support to the Pro Bono Partner and Pro Bono Counsel regarding information management, reports and presentations. The position also involves interaction with all stakeholders both internal and external. | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: | - Collaborate with Pro Bono Partner and Pro Bono Counsel to plan, staff and oversee pro bono legal clinics (short term legal advice consultations/representations) in all offices; liaise with pro bono coordinators/teams at legal services organizations to execute legal clinics
- Manage various ongoing pro bono projects
- Maintain and distribute CLE, training and resource materials
- Manage and update the pro bono practice page of the Firm’s intranet
- Conduct statistical analysis of pro bono work as necessary
- Assist in responding to pro bono surveys and reports requested by various media outlets, bar associations and referral agencies
- Liaise with pro bono coordinators/teams at legal services organizations for planning and monitoring of project implementation and matters
- Collaborate with the Pro Bono Counsel in managing the Firm’s annual Pro Bono Recognition events
- Plan and execute pro bono events and legal training programs
- Prepare responses to auditors for pro bono matters
- Perform other duties as assigned
| PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: | - Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred in social services, community outreach or communications
- 2-3 years of relevant experience required, prior experience working in a law firm, or in pro bono, legal aid and/or public interest law preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and a strong aptitude for detail
- Ability to coordinate and work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated interest in public service and serving low-income communities
- Fluency in Spanish language is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom and PowerPoint
- Ability to be flexible and to work independently, at times with minimal supervision, as well as in a fast-paced environment with a small staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people including senior professionals and low-income clients
- Excellent judgment, including sensitivity to confidential information
- Ability to travel to any Duane Morris office up to 10% of the time
